Work Bond Opportunities

NHC is a 100% volunteer-led hockey program across a wide range of levels. We count on our members to volunteer in order for the program to be successful. NHC has instituted a Work Bond Program to encourage the parents of our players to volunteer to help maintain our program.

The Work Bond Program requires each family to post a Work Bond for the season, which is a $100 check made payable to the club. The Work Bond is destroyed once each family fulfills the volunteer requirements. Checks will be collected at the first practice.  Players will not be allowed on the ice until the check is received.

How are work bonds being collected?
Prior to stepping on the ice for your child’s first practice you will turn over your Work Bond via check, dated for the last day of the season to the Team Parent. They will in turn hand over all checks for secure keeping to the club treasurer.

What if I choose not to volunteer?
If you do not volunteer, your Work Bond will be forfeited. However, we do not view the Work Bond as a revenue source, so we would prefer you volunteer to help the organization and satisfy your family’s Work Bond. If you know up front that you do not want to volunteer, we do offer a buyout option. If you wish not to volunteer you will issue a check dated the day of the first practice and give it to the Team Parent prior to your child getting on the ice.

What if I only fulfill part of the work bond?
If you only partially complete the work bond requirements, the work bond will be forfeited.
