NAZARETH
HOCKEY CLUB is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to
providing opportunities for school age students to learn
to play ice hockey. NHC promotes an understanding of
the sport while encouraging a sense of fair play and team
spirit. The club places emphasis at all level of the
organization on the fun, education and close relationships
that are formed dying the team sport experience. NHC
volunteers strive to provide a positive and meaningful
experience for all players. NHC will provide
administrational support and instruction necessary for
players to improve their hockey skills and to learn the
value of participating in a team sport.
NHC
is a member of the Lehigh Valley Scholastic Hockey League
(LVSHL). NHC teams are the official representatives
to LVSHL of the Nazareth Area School District
and are officially recognized by NASD as a club team.
However, NHC is not sanctioned or financially supported by
the NASD since ice hockey is not a PIAA sanctioned
sport.
NHC
and LVSHL rules and bylaws are governed by USA Hockey,
Inc. (USAH) and all players and administrators are
required to be USAH members. USAH is the national
governing body for the sport of ice hockey in the US
including officiating (referee certification),
registrations, coaching certification, and risk
management. All NHC coaches are USAH trained and
certified.
